Ordination of Rev. Deacon Gamage Sameera Buddisha Silva

Rev. Deacon Gamage Sameera Buddisha Silva Rev. Bro Gamage Sameera Buddisha Silva was born on 20th January 1985 as the 2nd child of Manolal Silva and Chrishanthie Silva of Kottawa, Pannipitiya. He had his primary education at Dharmapala College Kottawa. He entered the Minor Seminary of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of the Diocese of Ratnapura in 2010, and in the same year, he entered the intermediate Seminary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Kaluthara. Having completed his preliminary formation at Kalutara he began his Philosophical Studies at the Philosophate of the National Seminary of Our Lady of Lanka, Kandy in 2011. After 3 years of Philosophical studies, he obtained his degree in Bachelor of Philosophy and started his theological studies at the Theologate of the National Seminary in the year 2014. In between his Theological Studies, he took one year Break to discern his Vocation. At the Completion of his Priestly Formation, he was ordained a Deacon on the 9th of September 2019 by His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Cletus Chandrasiri Perera OSB, the Bishop of Ratnapura at St.Theresaâ€™s Church, Dehigahapitiya. He had his pastoral Ministry at the Integral English Education center Buluthota and Tamil immersion at Thannamunaei parish in the Diocese of Batticaloa. Rev. Bro Gamage Sameera Buddisha Silva will be ordained a Priest on the 18th of July 2020 by His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Cletus Chandrasiri Perera OSB, the Bishop of Ratnapura at St Maryâ€™s Church, Maharagama at 10:30 am. The First Holy Eucharistic celebration will be offered on the 20th of July 2020 at 7.30 am at Christ the King Church, Pannipitiya.
